Crockpot Chocolate Lava Cake Gets a "C"

Have you discovered Pinterest? I sure have and I have found lots of delicious recipes on it that I've been trying out and wanted to share with you.

This week we tried Crockpot Chocolate Lava Cake from Life as a Lofthouse. I love the idea of cooking a cake in a crockpot. Putting it on and letting it go for two hours only to return to a delicious dessert is really convenient. However, I am giving this recipe a C.


The chocolate was very strong -- a dark/semi flavor. My family would have liked it a tad sweeter. The special part of this cake is supposed to be the lava and the picture shows a nice, rich, syrupy lava. But our cake produced a thicker, more hot fudgy style sauce. The cake itself was alright, nothing spectacular, but ok. So, overall, it was fairly average. A fun idea with the crockpot, a cake that is not embarrassing to serve to guests, but nothing that will wow them.
